BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) – Southern track and field will be represented at this year’s NCAA Outdoor Championships.
High jumper Roman Smith is Oregon-bound after qualifying at the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville. Smith punched his ticket with a personal best 7.15 feet, tying for third place in the event.
The Kansas City native missed his first two attempts, but the third and final attempt was the charm.
The championships take place June 11th – 14th at Hayward Field in Eugene.
