The partnership marks Southwest’s sixth international airline collaboration in 2025.
DALLAS — Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE: LUV) is partnering with Turkish Airlines on a batch of new flights connecting the U.S. to Istanbul.
The Dallas-based carrier announced Dec. 17 flights to Istanbul Airport will launch out of 10 U.S. airports beginning in January 2026. The partnership will allow Southwest to serve trans-Atlantic passengers domestically and connect both carriers at international airports in Atlanta, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Detroit, Los Angeles, Miami, Seattle, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.
Although Houston is not on that list, Southwest is the dominant carrier by far at Houston’s William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) with flights to many of those cities.
Turkish Airlines offers flights to 353 destinations in 132 countries from its hub in Istanbul, which now includes to 10 U.S. airports Southwest flies. In the new year, international travelers with Southwest will be able to book tickets through Turkish Airlines, travel agents and travel websites, according to the announcement.
