After the Denver Broncos‘ big win over the Kansas City Chiefs, the whole NFL landscape was rocked by what is seemingly a changing of the guard in the AFC West. ESPN’s flagship program SportsCenter had a great segment on the Broncos‘ win over the Chiefs.
Former NFL coach Herm Edwards helped break down the Broncos‘ victory on the show. “The Broncos, they win dirty, they win ugly, they win muddy, but they win,” the segment began. “They are, right now the No. 1 in the AFC.”
Edwards was asked about the Broncos‘ success, and how they win close games. “Obviously, we can’t score points when you have a defense that only allows 17 points per game,” said Edwards. “You think about a defense that takes the ball away, doesn’t give up points and now this team is like–we’re used to playing in a tight game, we’re not going to blink.”
With the win over Kansas City, Denver improves to 7-2 in one score (eight or less points) games in 2025.
Let’s hope they keep up the streak after their much-needed bye week.
