SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A local business is shutting its doors after the owner passed away last week.
“It is with a broken heart that I have to announce the passing of my beautiful wife, Rebekah Santiago, owner of Creative Escape Glass LLC. The studio will be closed permanently as we don’t have anyone to continue her beautiful work of glass fusion,” said a Facebook post on Creative Escape Glass LLC’s page made by Santiago’s husband, Rafael.
According to social media, the business had been around for a decade.
A post earlier on November 7, also made by Rafael, announced an indefinite closure after Rebekah was taken to the hospital.

“It is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you that my wife, Rebekah Santiago, the owner of Creative Escape Glass LLC, had a medical emergency and is in a coma in the hospital,” the earlier post said.
Santiago also thanked customers for the past 10 years, many he says he considers his friends.
“We had a wonderful 10 years serving our customers, many of whom we call friends. I will update you all at a later time to arrange for pick ups, etc., since I am in the midst of navigating these uncharted waters. I hope you all understand,” Santiago’s post said.
