TIFTON, Ga. (WALB) – The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has opened a new satellite office here in Tifton, with the hopes of helping advance economic growth for local Hispanic business owners.
Carlos Vidal, the owner of 305 Latin Cuisine says that in the five months of owning his restaurant in Tifton, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has been a great benefit to his success.
“It has helped a lot immensely because they have meetings and when they have meetings, they choose a place and location. Most of the time you have the opportunity, the advertisement, and it’s just a great thing to get along with,” Vidal said.
The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President Veronica Maldonado says they discussed offices in many different areas but settled on Tifton as being the perfect city in a convenient location.
“When we looked at where there could be a central spot to support businesses in all of those communities and to leverage our partnerships in the region, we felt Tifton could be a really amazing central point,” Torres said.
The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce President says the chamber is looking forward to evolving with the community they serve and offering resources to both English and non-English speaking participants is a way to effectively do that.
“We’re looking forward to working with our stakeholders, South Georgia local chambers, and our regional partners to make sure that we are building a strong and resilient Hispanic business ecosystem. That’s our goal,” Torres said.
The Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is hosting its next nine-week business accelerated program Eleva to help meet the needs of business owners in the community.
