When you think of sun, sand and luxury, Miami often comes to mind. And for those who like to eat, shop, relax on the beach and participate in fun activities, Miami is the place to be. If you’re visiting the city for Memorial Day, we’ve got the ultimate guide for how to spend the holiday. From the events to the exhibitions to the restaurants, there’s plenty to take advantage of during Memorial Day weekend in Miami.
While many restaurants and activities are open and available year-round, Memorial Day is a special time to honor those who have served our country. If you’re willing to brave the crowds, here are our favorite things to do in Miami for Memorial Day.
Grab Brunch and Dinner
We all love a good brunch, and Memorial Day weekend is the perfect time to take your friends and family out for a great meal. If you’re more of a savory brunch person, The Henry has a long list of options (along with a unique cocktail menu), while Pinch Kitchen is a great brunch option for those who like sweeter fare. For Memorial Day dinner specials and menus, check out restaurants like Morton’s Steakhouse, The Palm and STK Steakhouse.
Take a Boat Cruise
Memorial Day weekend is the perfect opportunity to go on that boat cruise you’ve always dreamed of. Attend the All-White Boat Party for unlimited drinks, snacks and a live DJ who plays all of the best early 2000s hip-hop hits. Sail to view the South Beach skyline at night while sipping wine and taking in the gorgeous views of Miami’s million-dollar homes.
Chill Out by the Beach
There’s nothing better than a relaxing day at the beaches of Miami to get rid of all of your stresses, worries and problems. Enjoy a balmy day in the soft sands of Miami Beach while listening to the crash of the ocean waves and the squeaking pelicans. And if you need a bite to eat, you can dine at waterfront restaurants including La Mar, Zuma and Lido Bayside.
Pay Tribute at the Air and Sea Show
Memorial Day is a time to pay tribute and remember those who have bravely fought for this country. Miami is celebrating soldiers this Memorial Day weekend at the Hyundai Air and Sea Show. Showcasing the technology from all five U.S. military branches, the free event has performances, military displays and fireworks, plus kid-friendly activities like rock climbing and bungee jumping.
Attend an Event or Concert
Looking for an event or concert to attend in Miami? You’re in luck, as there are plenty of them in store for Memorial Day weekend. If you’re a Bad Bunny fan, the Puerto Rican singer will be performing Friday, Saturday and Sunday night (May 24–26) at the Kaseya Center. If you love the two-piece hip-hop group City Girls, you can watch JT and Yung Miami perform at Club M2 (May 25-26), and attend JT’s Memorial Day Weekend Party Bus event on May 24-25. Classical music and jazz fans can enjoy performances at the Miami International Piano Festival during Memorial Day weekend.
