
A couple of official details about the most awaited offering of the year have already been revealed! And although November is still a little while away, the city is already preparing for the Great Day of the Dead 2025 Ofrenda in the Zócalo of the CDMX.
Every year, millions of people visit Mexico City to experience one of its most emblematic traditions: Day of the Dead.
And among all the activities that are celebrated on these important dates, there is one that has become an unmissable meeting point for locals and tourists: the Day of the Dead Monumental Offering that is installed in Mexico City’s Zócalo.
The call to participate in the design of the Monumental Offering of the Zócalo 2025 has already been published, and thanks to this we can know that this 2025, the offering will be dedicated to commemorate the 700th anniversary of the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan.


From now on we can tell you that it promises to be an unprecedented visual and historical proposal, as we cannot leave aside the marigold flowers, altars, pre-Hispanic elements and contemporary art, to pay homage to the ancient Mexica city.
The installation will be open to the public from October 25 to November 2, and is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors as in previous years, as this celebration has established itself as one of the most important for national and international tourism.
Save the date now! The Zócalo will be transformed into a vibrant space full of color, aromas, music and tradition that will surely make you travel back in time to the era of the ancient Mexican city.
About the call for the ofrenda 2025 in the Zócalo of Mexico City
The call has been launched by the Ministry of Culture of the CDMX and is aimed at artists, designers, architects and creative collectives who are passionate about art, tradition and Mexican culture.
They are invited to imagine and create a model of the great ofrenda that will pay tribute to the Day of the Dead 2025 and the 700th anniversary of the founding of Mexico-Tenochtitlan in the heart of Mexico City.
Participants will have until July 11, 2025 to register. The winning proposal will be chosen by citizen vote to be exhibited in front of thousands of visitors.

Little by little, different emblematic events of the Day of the Dead season have been revealing their dates, so you can start planning your agenda in advance!
The Mega Catrinas Procession 2025 is undoubtedly one of the must-see plans, as you will see hundreds of catrinas parading through the streets of Mexico City, which will go in different themed contingents.
This incredible procession of catrinas will take place on Sunday, October 26, 2025 and the tour will start at the Angel of Independence and will end at the Zocalo of CDMX.
On the other hand, it is also known when you can enjoy the exhibition of monumental alebrijes. This event is divided in two: first a parade that goes from the Zocalo to Reforma and then an outdoor exhibition where you will be able to appreciate the impressive pieces.
The parade will take place on Saturday, October 18, 2025 at 12:00 noon. The exhibition will be available from October 18 to November 9 on Paseo de la Reforma.
