JEJU ISLAND, Korea – Three members of the Boston University men’s lacrosse team will compete at the World Lacrosse Men’s U20 Championship, which will take place from August 15-24.
Rising junior Murphy McLaughlin will represent Ireland, rising sophomore Timothy Shannehan will play for the United States and rising sophomore Kaidan Suh will represent Korea, the host nation for this year’s tournament.
McLaughlin and Ireland will begin pool play on Friday at 12:10 p.m. local time (Thursday, 11:10 p.m. ET) against Group D foes Israel while Suh and the Koreans will face New Zealand at 7 p.m. local time (Friday, 6 a.m. ET) in Group C action. Team USA will open its Group A schedule on August 16 at 11 a.m. local time (Friday, 10 p.m. ET) against Canada. A full schedule of games can be found here.
All four participants from Group A will automatically advance to the quarterfinal round of the playoffs which begin on August 21. The gold medal game is scheduled for August 24. The United States has won each of the previous nine World Lacrosse men’s junior field championships, most recently in 2022.
