The USA Niagara Chamber of Commerce will host a day-long Small Business Expo where business owners or those wanting to start one can learn how to thrive.
It will take place from 8 a.m. through 7 p.m. on Nov. 13 across two floors of the Wurlitzer event space in North Tonawanda. It is the first time the chamber is hosting an expo like this.
“We’ve done smaller events where we focus and resources for businesses,” Executive Director Kory Schuler said. “We thought it would be a good idea to put all those resources into one event.”
Throughout the day, various sessions, mixers, and speakers will connect small business owners with each other and help educate on what to do to make their companies grow. Some featured speakers include WGRZ’s Maryalice Demler, Chamber Executive Director Craig Turner and business consultant Larry Mietus. The expo ends with a tour of Platters Chocolate Factory and a sunset mixer from 5 to 7 p.m.
Damon Piatek, a chamber board member and of Impulseguide, will give a presentation on point of decision marketing. Since small business owners have to wear so many hats running everything, he said, this can give them the chance to improve.
“The problem is working on the business and having the time to do that,” Piatek said. “If you could get the afternoon away, or even a couple hours away to come to this expo, you’re going to be able to work on your business and expand it.”
Any business in Western New York is encouraged to attend. Interested attendees can register through the USA Niagara Chamber website.
