SALT LAKE CITY – Utah football jumped up five spots from No. 25 to No. 20 in the week three AP Top 25 poll, which was released on Sunday.
After making a statement with a big win over UCLA in week one, Utah football took care of business against an FCS opponent in week two. They kept the Cal Poly Mustangs out of the end zone, winning 63-9.
In the win, quarterback Devon Dampier continued his early success. He completed 17 of 23 pass attempts for 192 yards and three touchdowns. The defense continued to be impressive as well, with three sacks, nine tackles for loss, and two interceptions, with one being returned for a touchdown.

The Utes will hit the road again in week three, heading up to Laramie to take on the Wyoming Cowboys.
The Rest of The Big 12 Rankings
Utah is one of three Big 12 teams ranked in the week three edition of the Poll.
Last week, there were four teams from the conference in the poll, and Utah was ranked the lowest of the group. Arizona State fell out of the rankings, and the Utes jumped Texas Tech, putting them ahead of the Red Raiders but still behind the Iowa State Cyclones.
ASU still received votes and is one spot shy of being ranked at No. 26. BYU sits one spot behind them. TCU and Baylor are the other schools to receive votes.
