SAN ANTONIO (December 3, 2024) — Viva, Mexico’s ultra-low-cost airline, welcomed passengers as they boarded a flight from San Antonio International Airport (SAT) to Guadalajara International Airport (GDL) on December 2. After yesterday’s launch, the airline now serves six nonstop destinations from San Antonio.
“Here at Viva, we’re aiming to make travel between Mexico and the United States easier than ever,” said Viva’s Executive Vice President and Chief Planning and Alliances Officer, Javier Suarez. “Both San Antonio and Guadalajara have strong and unique identities, so we’re happy to facilitate a cultural exchange between these two iconic cities. We’re sure San Antonians will enjoy not only visiting Guadalajara, but the other nonstop destinations we offer from the city. We urge travelers to take advantage of our low fares and modern fleet to discover Mexico’s cultural and natural beauty.”
The new flights on Viva to GDL depart from SAT four times a week. Viva also serves Leon/Guanajuato, Mexico City, Queretaro, Torreon and increased its service to Monterrey, Mexico last month.
“We recognize that we have a demand for travel to Mexico, even more so during the holidays, so it’s the perfect time to introduce more nonstop options to one of the most popular destinations in the region,” said Jacob Tyler, Air Service Administrator for the City of San Antonio’s Aviation Department.
