A Walmart in Spring will be getting a facelift with construction slated to begin in the spring and wrap up in the fall of 2025, a company spokesperson confirmed via email Oct. 9. Walmart offers clothing, home goods, electronics, groceries and more, with 10,500 locations worldwide and 2.1 million employees, according to its website.
According to the email, the remodel will be a “store of the future” design, and will include:
- Expanding the grocery pickup/delivery, deli and produce sections
- A new “grab and go” section and community-focused selections for food and merchandise
- Pharmacy and apparel section improvements
The $1.8 million renovation will include 3,535 square feet of new space, according to a Sept. 19 filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
