BOSTON (WPRI) — Police in Boston got an unusual 911 call this week from a man asking if someone could wish him a happy birthday.
Officer Israel Bracho said he and his partner first thought the call was a joke, but when they realized it was true, they decided to make the moment memorable.
The officers stopped to buy 25-year-old Chris some muffins and candles before getting to his house just after 12:30 a.m. Thursday
“On our way there we decided we couldn’t show up to someone’s house empty-handed,” Bracho said. “My mother raised me right — she would’ve killed me if I didn’t.”
Body cameras captured the moments the officers stepped up to the door.
“We tried to light you candles man, but the wind blew them out for you,” Bracho said.
The officers then went inside and sang Happy Birthday to him.
Chris told them it was the best day of his life.
