A prominent hotel developer has acquired 3.5 acres in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards.
White Lodging Services Corp., a family-owned developer of hospitality and lifestyle properties based in Indiana, acquired the land at 400 E. Exchange Ave., the company announced Sept. 30. The land is next to the historic red bricks of the Armour & Co. building, which has been converted into the headquarters for U.S. Energy Development Corp.
White Lodging is exploring several options for the site, which could be a hotel and restaurant or a larger mixed-use destination. Conner White, vice chair and chief investment office at White Lodging, called the Stockyards a “unique intersection of history and opportunity.”
“We are thrilled to be part of shaping its next chapter with additional economic development and investment,” he said in a statement. “While our plans are still taking shape, there is so much potential in the site. Our vision is to create a place that celebrates the character of the district while introducing new experiences for visitors and locals alike.”
