Nikola Jokić has a night to remember
By halftime, he had 33 points and 6 rebounds, while the Clippers clung to a slim lead thanks to a strong bench performance from Jordan Miller, who scored 18 points in 19 minutes.
But the moment Jokić returned in the second half, the tone of the game shifted. He scored another 17 points in the third quarter, finishing the frame with 50 points, 10 rebounds, five assists… and a building buzzing with disbelief.
By the time the quarter ended, he had 52, and the conversations in the aisles weren’t whether the Clippers could win — but whether Jokić might break his own career-high tally of 61, or even chase the mythical 70- or 80-point mark.
“He was extraordinary tonight,” Nuggets head coach David Adelman said after the game. “Some of these gyms he played in overseas, they sound pretty wild. Tonight was one of those ones you won’t forget.”
