The Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce (WLCC) Board of Directors announced in a press release Tuesday that Juan Corpus has been designated as the Chamber’s full-time executive director following the retirement of former director Jorge Antezana in April.
“On behalf of the board, we are excited to confirm Juan Corpus as our full-time executive director,” WLCC Board Chairman Marcio Sierra said in a statement. “Juan’s leadership has already proven valuable as he guides us through this transitional period, and we are confident that his expertise and commitment to the Latino business community will propel the Chamber into a new era of growth and impact.”
Most recently, Corpus served as the Vice President of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for New North Inc., a regional marketing and economic development corporation for the 18 counties of Northeast Wisconsin. There, he led organizational DEI initiatives, advised partners on Environmental, Social and Governance planning, and mentored local partners on their respective DEI journeys. Additionally, Corpus collaborated with six statewide minority chambers of commerce to develop a diversity digital hub. Madison365 named him one of Wisconsin’s Most Influential Latino Leaders in 2022.
“Juan’s extensive career, defined by over two decades of operational excellence and a dedication to championing diversity, makes him the ideal leader for this moment in the Chamber’s evolution,” Sierra said in a statement. “We are confident that his knowledge of the Latino business community and his vast expertise will empower our current members, expand our outreach and lift the Chamber to new levels of success throughout Wisconsin.”
Prior to New North Inc., Corpus spent over two decades at Humana in roles spanning customer service, network administration, process analysis, regulatory implementation and consumer experience process improvement. He facilitated more than 50 process improvement projects to streamline more than 300 business processes and leveraged data and technology to improve the consumer experience.
“I’ve seen firsthand the powerful impact that Latino business growth has on Wisconsin’s economy,” Corpus said in a statement. “It is an honor to lead this organization, and I look forward to expanding access and opportunity for every entrepreneur we serve. When Latino businesses succeed, Wisconsin succeeds.”
