FITCHBURG, Wis. — The Wisconsin Latino Chamber of Commerce will host a celebration on International Women’s Day by having workshops, a panel and a marketplace.
This year, the WLCC’s International Women’s Day celebration is on Thursday, March 6, and will highlight women entrepreneurs’ accomplishments and promote their contributions to the community.
A panel titled Empoderando el Cambio: De la Voz de la Mujer a un Futuro de Igualdad (roughly translated to ‘Empowering the Change: From the Voice of a Woman to a Future of Equality’) will take place from 9-11 a.m., including the Head Consul of Mexico in Milwaukee, Claudia Franco Hijuelos. She will give strategies on female leadership along with networking opportunities. The Poderosas Awards will take place during this time, recognizing outstanding women in the business world.
Attendees are welcome to go to a workshop from 10-11:45 a.m.; however, there is a limit on 60 participants per session and is based on a first-come, first serve basis. The first workshop is from 10-10:45 a.m. translated to ‘Let’s Talk About Financial Opportunities For Your Business, Enterprise or Personal Life.’ The second workshop is titled ‘Lead With Confidence: Coaching Strategies For Successful Women’ from 11-11:45 a.m.
A marketplace showcase, where over 15 women-owned businesses will be present from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
