Transport yourself to Bourbon Street
South Street Diner is hosting an all-day Mardi Gras celebration for Fat Tuesday. Join in on their $10 all-you-can-eat jambalaya feast, and try their other Louisiana-style dishes on the menu including beignets and voodoo punch. The night will be filled with beads, costumes, Zydeco music, and lots of food. (Tuesday, March 4 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; 178 Kneeland St., Boston)
Unplug your devices for a while
Getting a headache from staring at your phone all day? This is your chance to go offline, and dedicate two hours to that creative project that you’ve been meaning to finish. Craft supplies — including coloring books, origami paper, and glue — and a soothing atmosphere will be provided. You can also bring your own materials, or even a book. (Thursday, March 6, at 6 p.m.; 101 Rogers St., Cambridge; starting at $10)
Mingle over mocktails
Start off the weekend by meeting some singles after work on Thursday over a glass of a non-alcoholic cocktail. Head over to Dray Drinks in the South End for a casual social hour, a drink ticket, and a mocktail demonstration. (Thursday, March 6, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.; 18 Union Park St., Boston; starting at $32.78)
Party at Boston Bitdown
Boston Bitdown is a new three-day music festival centered around one genre: chiptune. This style uses sounds from vintage video games, arcade games, and computer hardware to create music. More than 50 artists are performing across five different locations in Somerville and Arlington, starting Thursday. (Thursday, March 6, to Saturday, March 8; multiple locations; starting at $23.18)
Brighten up your home with a bouquet
Learn everything you need to know about creating flower arrangements, from color theory to floral handling, alongside a drink of your choice. After this arrange-and-sip class at Canalside Food + Drink, you’ll take home your own bouquet creation in a glass vase, plus some flower food to keep your flowers healthy for the week. (Friday, March 7, at 6 p.m.; 100 Cambridgeside Pl., Cambridge; $79)
Watch a short film on Keytar Bear
We’ve all seen the beloved Keytar Bear perform throughout the city. (And if you haven’t, here is Keytar Bear’s Instagram.) Head over to Suffolk University’s Modern Theatre for the premiere screenings of a short documentary on this fuzzy street busker’s life and origins. (Friday, March 7, at 3 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.; 525 Washington St., Boston; free, tickets required)
Book a brunch buffet
Every Saturday morning, Batifol in Kendall Square is offering a $38 brunch buffet featuring breakfast classics like eggs, bacon, pancakes, and French toast, plus some specialty dishes like tiramisu, beignets, and Mont Blanc. And to sweeten the deal: It comes with unlimited coffee and orange juice. If you’re a student, bring your student ID for a 10% discount. (Saturdays at 10 a.m.; 291 Third St., Cambridge; $38)
Dress your dog in green for St. Puptrick’s Day
Night Shift Brewing is partnering with Red Dog Pet Resort for a St. Puptrick’s Day celebration, filled with vendors, giveaways, a pet photo booth, and doggie beer. For the adults, Night Shift is offering a Shamrock Stout, a mint chocolate milk stout, both on tap and in cans. (Saturday, March 8, from 1 to 4 p.m.; 87 Santilli Hwy., Everett; free)
See an anime cult classic at the MFA
This one is for the Studio Ghibli fans. “Spirited Away” is showing on the museum’s big screen on Sunday. This movie is about a 10-year-old girl who comes across a seemingly abandoned amusement park, only to realize that she’s crossed into a world full of spirits. It also won an Oscar in 2003 for Best Animated Feature. (Sunday, March 9, at 2:30 p.m.; 465 Huntington Ave., Boston; $15 for non-members)
