A family-run business, 101 Latino Multiservice, won the Entrepreneur of the Year award from the Culpeper Chamber of Commerce in November.

Franz Rodriguez, a founder of 101 Latino Multiservice, a tax preparation and notary service business, commented on winning the award, “First and foremost, we are incredibly thankful and honored to have been nominated for Entrepreneur of the Year. Winning the award was both surprising and deeply appreciated.

“Our main mission has always been to make a difference and have a positive impact in Culpeper. Giving back to the community was — and continues to be — our primary goal. We moved here three years ago and have loved it ever since,” he said.

Franz and his wife, Karina Rodriguez, founded 101 Latino Multiservice in April 2023 and established its offices in Culpeper in June of that year.

With decades of experience in finance and banking, the couple offers business services to Culpeper’s growing Latino community. The company also offers documentation preparation for embassies, document translation and other business services to those whose primary or sole language is Spanish.

“We are a vital resource for Latino-owned businesses and thriving Latino entrepreneurs, helping them succeed. Our commitment goes beyond business; we actively volunteer on community committees, playing a key role in promoting inclusivity within local organizations,” said Franz Rodriguez.

“Our efforts are opening doors for Spanish-speaking business owners to better engage with organizations like the Chamber and other local groups, creating a more accessible and welcoming environment for our community. It’s our way of giving back.”

Amy Frazier, president and CEO of the Culpeper County Chamber of Commerce, commented on the couple’s contributions to the community.

“Franz and Karina have built 101 Latino Multiservice into a thriving business that serves as a vital resource for Latino-owned businesses, offering services that empower entrepreneurs and help them succeed,” Frazier said.

“Their commitment goes beyond business. They actively volunteer their time on multiple chamber and community-based committees, playing a key role in making our Chamber more inclusive and welcoming to non-English speakers.

“Their efforts are opening the door for Spanish-speaking business owners to better engage with the Chamber and begin to access its valuable resources, creating a more inclusive environment for all.”

According to the criteria set for the award by the Chamber, candidates must willingly accept the challenges of entering the business world in exchange for the potential benefits thereof, possess critical and creative thinking skills, demonstrate initiative and drive to bring a product and or service to market and own and or manage a successful business venture started within the past two years.

“Their tireless work ethic, community involvement, and passion for creating opportunities for others exemplify the entrepreneurial spirit that this award seeks to recognize,” said Frazier. “I wholeheartedly believe that Franz and Karina Rodriguez are deserving of the Entrepreneur of the Year award, and I am confident that their contributions will continue to benefit our community for years to come.”

The location of 101 Latino Multiservice is 14115 Lovers Lane, Suite 127. See 101LatinoMultiservice.com.
