CARROLLTON, Texas (TNND) — A man shot five people in Texas on Tuesday, killing two, when he opened fire during a business meeting, according to police.
The Carrollton Police Department said they were conducting an active investigation in the 1500 block of W. Hebron at around 1 p.m. Chief Roberto Arredondo later identified the area as K Towne Plaza in an area of the city known as Koreatown.
Arredondo identified the suspect as 69-year-old Seung Hang Ho and said he was arrested after a brief foot chase. He added it was not a random act of gunfire.
“We don’t know exactly what the meeting was about, but we understand it to be a business relation,” he told reporters.
Agents from the FBI and another federal agency were among law enforcement at the scene.
Of Carrollton’s 130,000-plus population, over 4,000 are of Korean descent, according to the U.S. Census American Community Survey.
