2024 NBA Western Conference finals odds, Game 4 time: Timberwolves vs. Mavericks picks, expert predictions

The Dallas Mavericks will look to put an end to their series with the Minnesota Timberwolves when they meet in Game 4 of the Western Conference Finals on Tuesday. Dallas earned a 116-107 win on Sunday to grab a commanding 3-0 lead. The Mavs (50-32), who have never lost to Minnesota in the postseason in six previous games, are 5-2 on their home court in the 2024 NBA playoffs. The T’Wolves (56-26), who are 5-2 on the road this postseason, had lost in the first round of their three previous playoff appearances. Dallas lists Luka Doncic (knee) as questionable and Dereck Lively II (neck) as doubtful. Minnesota lists Mike Conley (calf) as questionable.

The game will tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET from American Airlines Center in Dallas. The Timberwolves have allowed the fourth-fewest points per game this postseason at 102.1, while the Mavericks are allowing 103.9, sixth-fewest. He also had 21 points and 12 rebounds in Game 4 of that series, and 10 points and 10 rebounds in Game 5. Also averaging double-digit scoring for Dallas this postseason is small forward Derrick Jones Jr. In Sunday’s win over the Timberwolves, he scored 11 points, while adding two assists and two rebounds. He scored a playoff-high 22 points, while adding four rebounds and two assists in the decisive Game 6 second-round win over Oklahoma City. Why the Timberwolves can cover 

Forward Jaden McDaniels has had a solid postseason and is coming off a 15-point performance in the Game 3 loss to Dallas. He scored 24 points and added four rebounds and three assists in Wednesday’s Game 1 loss. In the 98-90 series clinching Game 7 win over the defending champion Denver Nuggets in the conference semifinals, he had 23 points, six rebounds and two steals. In 14 playoff starts, McDaniels is averaging 12.6 points, 4.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.1 blocks.

Center Rudy Gobert is averaging a double-double during the postseason and has been a steady force for Minnesota. In 13 games, Gobert is averaging 12.2 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.1 blocks and one steal. He registered a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a 109-108 Game 2 loss to the Mavericks.
