Elitch Gardens Theme and Water Park has been entertaining families for 135 years — the last 30 in downtown Denver.
But a redevelopment plan for its site means it won’t be there forever. Odds are it will be rebuilt, but now is the time to catch the current version to have that shared experience with your family across generations.
The park is about to hold its annual fireworks show, one of the few places to peep pyrotechnics around Memorial Day. That marks the start of daily operations, an unofficial sign of summer in Denver.

The theme park is already open on weekends and select weekdays. Starting May 26, it will be open seven days a week. From Aug. 16 through Jan. 4, 2026, the theme park will be open select weekends. Elitch Gardens rides you can’t miss
Out of more than 50 rides and water attractions, a half-dozen are roller coasters. They include Twister III, a 4,640-foot wooden coaster featuring a 90-foot drop and a pitch black tunnel. Elitch Gardens also operates an interactive ride designed by Meow Wolf. The 11 attractions in the water park are open through the summer.
Elitch Gardens tickets and season passes
When purchased online, a day pass for any day through May 23 is $44.99, a day pass for the rest of the season is $54.99 and season passes start with an early season promotion at $79.99 and range higher, with a slate of perks such as discounts, free tickets for friends, free parking and more.
