Here is what to know for the 2026 DI men’s lacrosse championship. 

The opening round of play began with two matchups on Wednesday, May 6. The second half of first round competition continues on Sunday, May 10. The championship will be on Monday, May 25 at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, VA. 

The DI men’s lacrosse championship is an 18-team, single elimination tournament. Ten teams received automatic qualifications and eight were at-large selections. The four lowest-ranked AQ teams compete in the opening round for the final two spots in the first round.

  • Semifinals: Saturday, May 23 | Scott Stadium in Charlottesville, VA.

Championship history

The Cornell Big Red beat the Maryland Terrapins, 13-10, to capture the 2025 national championship, the school’s first in nearly 50 years (1977).
