The police chief said the suspected shooter was still at large, and investigators are not sure if others were wounded in the incident.

The shooting happened at 4400 Block of Stahl Road, authorities said.

McManus urged nearby residents to stay in their homes and avoid the area, saying that police assume the suspect may still be armed.

“We do have a name on the individual, and my understanding is that detectives are … possibly applying for a warrant,” he said.

The police chief said the victims of the shooting were employees of the landscape supply company, and said he believed the shooting took place inside the business — not on the street.

Officials “don’t know the motive right now, but it was not random,” McManus said.

In a Facebook post, the San Antonio Police Department described the male suspect as approximately 5’8” with a slim build and goatee. They said he had been wearing a black shirt and black pants.

“We don’t know much right now because it is very, very early in the beginning of the investigation,” McManus said. “What I am telling you is all preliminary and subject to change as the investigators get further into the details.”

Police asked anyone with information to contact SAPD at (210) 207-7273.
