Firefighters battled a four-alarm fire early Wednesday at a multi-family home in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood that has spread to adjacent buildings.Crews encountered heavy fire in the back of the home at 7 Carson St. when they were called to the scene at 5 a.m. Wednesday. “I just heard a bunch of yelling,” Dorchester resident Victoria Kelly said. “I thought people were fighting on the street, but when I looked out the window they were yelling for everyone to get out of the houses.”The flames spread to buildings on both sides of the multi-family home, officials said. Narrow walkways between the buildings made access difficult from the street, officials said.”The wires in the front of the building made it difficult. Normally we would throw an aerial ladder up. They couldn’t do that so they had to get a ground ladder in. These wires are live,” Boson Fire Department Commissioner Paul Burke said.Crews used a ladder truck to rescue a man and woman from a unit on the third floor of the building. One firefighter suffered minor injuries, however, no other injuries were reported. The Salvation Army and the American Red Cross are assisting 33 residents who were displaced.”I heard it, thought it was rain but when I woke up I saw the fire,” said displaced resident Seikrishna Kilaru. “I just wanted to wake my friends up and we came out immediately.”The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
