Hundreds of flights headed in and out of Denver International Airport were delayed or canceled Tuesday morning as high winds hit Colorado’s Front Range and Eastern Plains.
The Federal Aviation Administration issued a wind-based ground delay at DIA early Tuesday morning, which was delaying flights by an average of 2 hours at 7:30 a.m. The traffic management program is scheduled through 8 p.m. Tuesday, according to the FAA.
As of 9:45 a.m., 565 flights had been delayed and 41 had been canceled, according to data from flight-tracking software FlightAware.

Delays at that time included 289 Southwest flights, 147 United flights and 69 SkyWest flights, according to FlightAware.
SkyWest had canceled 29 flights, Southwest canceled 10 flights and United canceled two flights, according to FlightAware.
