As the season begins to change from summer to fall, Colorado has plenty of events to celebrate the golden leaves and chillier air.
Here are some great events to check out in Colorado in September:
- Pueblo Chile & Frijoles Festival
Dates: Sept. 18-20
Created to promote Pueblo’s agriculture and encourage the community to buy local fresh products at the farm stands and specialty shops. The festival includes live entertainment, street vendors, cooking competitions and chilies and is held downtown along Union Avenue.
2. Longs Peak Scottish Irish Highland Festival
Dates: Sept. 11-13
Located in Estes Park, this festival is celebrating its 50th year. Festivities include Scottish Highland athletics, leading Celtic rock and folk musicians and live performances across the festival grounds.
3. Labor Day Lift Off
Dates: Sept. 5-7
This year, Colorado Springs Labor Day Lift Off is celebrating its 50th anniversary as well as Colorado’s 150th anniversary and America’s 250th anniversary.
4. Denver Oktoberfest
Dates: Sept. 18-20, Sept. 25-27
This event features keg bowling, stein hoisting and live music across two weekends in downtown Denver.
5. Phish at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park
Dates: Sept. 4-6
This band returns to Commerce City for a three-night Labor Day weekend performance.
6. Fiestas Patrias Colorado
Dates: Sept. 12-13
This festival celebrates Hispanic culture, music, food, heritage and community at the Colorado Springs Flea Market on Sept. 12 and Mile High Flea Market in Denver on Sept. 13.
7. Salida Fiber Festival
Dates: Sept. 12-13
This festival takes place in Salida’s Riverside Park and celebrates the best in the region’s fiber arts.
