KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – A former Kansas star and national champion with the Jayhawks is on the move ahead the NBA’s trade deadline.
According to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania, former Kansas star Ochai Agbaji has been traded in a three-team deal that includes the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers and Brooklyn Nets.
Agbaji is heading to the Nets in a deal that sends former NBA All-Star Chris Paul from the Clippers to the Raptors.
The 2022 national champion with the Jayhawks goes from being teammates in Toronto with fellow Kansas product Gradey Dick to being teammates in Brooklyn with former teammate Jalen Wilson.
This season, Agbaji is averaging 4.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.7 assists per game in 42 games. Known for being a great 3-point shooter during his final season with the Jayhawks, Agbaji has struggled with his jump shot this season in the NBA, shooting 18.5% from 3-point range with the Raptors.
Agbaji was an All-American during his final season with the Jayhawks.
He was drafted 14th overall by the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2022 and has been traded three times now, suiting up in NBA games for the Utah Jazz, Toronto Raptors and now Brooklyn Nets.
