STORRS, Conn.- The UConn women’s lacrosse team (3-5) looks to snap a two-game losing skid, returning to action on Sunday afternoon against No. 20 Denver (7-1) at 2:00 p.m. The game is the BIG EAST conference opener for both teams.

Previously on UConn Lacrosse:

The Huskies will look to rebound after dropping their last game to No. 14 Colorado. UConn was held to a season-low five goals against a strong Buffalo defense. Freshman McKenna Merkel scored three of the five UConn goals, setting a new single-game career-high after scoring two against Fairfield earlier this season.

UConn will look to win its second consecutive game in the series against Denver. The Huskies beat the Pios for the first time in program history last April with a thrilling 14-13 overtime win in Storr. Kelsey Neary scored the game-winner to secure the win, handing Denver its only conference loss.

Opposition Research:

Denver enters the matchup with a 7-1 record on the season, with its only loss coming at the hands of Stony Brook in overtime on March 6th. The Pioneers rank sixth in the country in scoring offense, averaging 15.75 goals per game. Denver has four different attackers in double-digit goals this season, with Olivia Ripple leading the way (32).

Watch and Follow: The game will be streamed on ESPN+. Follow UConn women’s lacrosse on Instagram, X, and Facebook.
