As Las Vegas gets ready to host another Super Bowl, local business owners say they’re already looking at the impact it could bring.
When the Super Bowl was in Las Vegas in 2024, it brought in an estimated 330,000 visitors, according to the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority. That created a big boost for local businesses who say today’s announcement is a big win for them.
For some local businesses, Super Bowl 58 in Las Vegas wasn’t just a one-week event. It turned into a lasting opportunity.
“It was such a joy—can you imagine?—it was incredible,” said Migdalia Davila, owner of Rika Arepas.
In 2024, the National Football League launched its Business Connect program, connecting diverse locally-owned businesses to Super Bowl events and contracts.
Local restaurants see lasting growth
Rika Arepa Express was selected as one of those businesses, something Davila said brought new attention to her restaurant and a lot more foot traffic.
“When they included us, we grew a lot; they organized workshops for us and invited us to participate in the major events they held. We met a lot of people, and whenever they pointed us out, they’d say, ‘Hello, arepas Venezuela!’ and that filled us with pride,” Davila said.
Another local business, Fresh Wata, was also selected as part of that program. They say they are still seeing the impact Super Bowl 58 brought even today.
“It definitely helped us grow outside of Vegas because now you have all these companies looking for support here in Vegas and now they’re more familiar with our name Fresh Wata,” said Melissa Desrameaux of Fresh Wata.
Ripple effect across the valley
But even beyond those chosen, Super Bowl 58 created a ripple effect across the valley. For Salt and Fire Catering, the boost came from events happening around the game.
“My emails and my calls and text messages too, being blown up. I mean, I was turning down more jobs than I could take. And so that was truly a blessing. I hope that happens again this time,” said Brandon King, owner of Salt and Fire Catering.
As Las Vegas looks ahead to hosting Super Bowl 63, business owners say they’re looking ahead to the boost it once brought to the entire city.
“I saw that tourism is down, so I hope people can come to Vegas and see how beautiful and see all the things that are happening,” King said.
Some business owners say it’s been a rough few months, but they’re holding out for that boost they know today’s announcement will bring.
