The Dallas Cowboys have released an updated version of their injury report prior to the Carolina Panthers’ matchup this week.
After evaluating the capacity of the injured players during practice, there is good news for the Cowboys fans – almost all of the players on the injured list fully participated in Dallas’ padded practice. … and there is a promising plan in place for the only guy who did not participate, left tackle Tyron Smith.
Here is the list of Cowboys’ players who were on the injured report on Thursday:
-running back Rico Dowdle (ankle) – full
-defensive end Viliami Fehoko Jr. (knee) – full
-tight end Peyton Hendershot (ankle) – full
-cornerback Jourdan Lewis (neck) – full
-defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa (hamstring) – full
-wide receiver Jalen Tolbert (knee) – full
-wide receiver KaVontae Turpin (shoulder) – full
-offensive tackle Tyron Smith (NIR-rest) – DNP
That’s right: The oft-injured Smith isn’t injured, but rather sat out to rest – which seems like a central part of the plan going forward for the 6-3 Cowboys.
On top of that, the Cowboys announced that defensive tackle Carl Davis has been signed to Dallas’ practice squad after Billy Price stepped down from the squad after being placed on injured reserve on Wednesday.
As for the Panthers, good news is circling around their injury report as well, mainly for their defense as many injured athletes returned to practice on Wednesday in a limited capacity.
Cornerback Jaycee Horn, back from injured reserve, practiced alongside C.J. Henderson, while edge rusher Brian Burns fully participated in the session.
While more information on the Panthers’ injury statuses will be released tomorrow, here is a list of Carolina’s players with notes from Thursday’s practice:

-tackle Taylor Moton (NIR-Rest/Knee) – LP
-tight end Stephen Sullivan – DNP
-tight end Ian Thomas (calf) – LP
-defensive end DeShawn Williams (NIR-Personal) – DNP
