The new route marks Ruidoso’s official entry into the nation’s commercial air network, providing residents, businesses, and visitors with unprecedented access to one of the country’s largest aviation hubs.
With direct service to Denver, travelers will gain expanded access to destinations across the United States and beyond, while the new route also makes it easier for visitors to experience Ruidoso’s mountain landscapes, year-round outdoor recreation, ski slopes, and vibrant arts and culture scene.
Village leadership described the announcement as a defining moment for the community, underscoring its potential to improve accessibility, support local businesses, and strengthen the economic foundation that tourism provides.
Contour Airlines will operate the service using 30-seat regional jets designed to deliver a comfortable and reliable travel experience, including extra legroom and complimentary snacks and beverages. The route is scheduled to run four times weekly—Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday—offering consistent connectivity between Ruidoso and Denver.
Tourism continues to serve as a cornerstone of Ruidoso’s economy—sustaining jobs, supporting local businesses, and contributing to essential services. Improved access is expected to further elevate the Village’s position as a year-round destination.
The Village also expressed appreciation for the partnership and investment from Contour Airlines, recognizing the shared commitment to expanding opportunity and visibility for the region. Mayor Lynn Crawford noted that the new service reflects strong confidence in Ruidoso as a destination and signals the beginning of a promising new chapter for Sierra Blanca Regional Airport.
