The new RAR Bike Shop, opened by friend and community builder Devin Cowens on Atlanta’s west side, is far more than a traditional repair space. It’s a hub centered on connection, education, and the joy of riding. Located within the CreateATL space near the Westside BeltLine, the shop blends essential services like repairs and maintenance with a strong emphasis on accessibility and inclusivity, welcoming riders of all backgrounds, from daily commuters to first-time bikepackers. RAR aims to be a safe, supportive environment where people can learn, gather, and get rolling. Watch the video below by Hannah Griggs, taken during the grand opening, and read on for more.
A standout feature is the shop’s “bikepacking education station,” a hands-on display designed to demystify gear setups and encourage more people to try bikepacking. The space will host monthly Bikepacking 101 workshops, reinforcing its role as a learning-focused community resource. Alongside its service offerings, the shop stocks practical essentials, such as tools, lights, repair items, as well as locally made bags, literature, and merch. With experienced mechanic Ana Fajardo on board and strong early community support, RAR Bike Shop is already shaping up to be an important new fixture in Atlanta’s cycling scene.
We’re stoked to see it get up and running. To learn more about RAR Bike Shop, check out their website here, and if you’d like show your support and help them get up and running, you can donate here. Also, be sure to give them a follow on Instagram @rar.bikeshop
