This is not a drill: a new location of a popular organic grocery store is headed to the San Antonio area.
According to a recent filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration, a new Sprouts Farmers Market will, well, sprout in the San Antonio-area suburb of Cibolo. The filing, lodged on Thursday, May 14, reveals that the new store will span about 24,439 square feet and come with a $3 million price tag.
Cibolo City Council issued the site development in January.
Sprouts is known for its emphasis on organic and natural foods, as well as its farmers market-style layout with bulk goods. Shoppers with specific diets are able to find specialty foods and snacks catering to plant-based, keto, paleo, gluten-free and other needs. Additionally, stores offer lots in the way of vitamins and supplements as well as essential oils and clean beauty items.
The new store will land in the Cibolo Crossing shopping center, which is an up-and-coming retail and dining district just off I-35 south of New Braunfels. According to the development’s website, pre-existing tenants include a Santikos theater and Living Spaces furniture store alongside restaurants like Parry’s Pizzeria & Taphouse, Willie’s Grill & Icehouse, The Magnolia Pancake Haus, Dutch Bros and more.
As for when it’ll be open to the public, the TDLR filing sets a construction timeline stretching from late May 2026 until April 23, 2027. That could mean shoppers filling the store by the end of next year, although an opening date is still unknown.
MySA reached out to Cibolo Crossing for more information on the new store, but did not hear back at the time of publication.
