Toronto Blue Jays pitcher Max Scherzer will take the mound for the Buffalo Bisons this weekend.
Scherzer will start this Sunday at Sahlen Field against the Lehigh Valley IronPigs as he rehabs from an injury. According to Blue Jays manager John Schneider, Scherzer is expected to throw between 45-60 pitches.
The game on Sunday begins at 1:05 p.m. Gates open at 11:30 a.m.
Scherzer has been on the Blue Jays’ injured list since April with forearm tendinitis and ankle inflammation.
The 40-year-old has won the Cy Young Award in both the American League (Detroit Tigers, 2013) and the National League (Washington Nationals, 2016, 2017) and is a two-time World Series champion (2019 Nationals, 2023 Texas Rangers).
