EUGENE, Ore. — Former Helena High track and field standout and current Baylor Bear Logan Todorovich closed out a strong sophomore campaign Saturday with a 20th place heptathlon finish at the NCAA Championship meet in a field of the top-24 competitors from around the nation.
The heptathlon consists of seven different events including 100-meter dash, high-jump, shot put, 200-meter dash, long jump, javelin throw, and 800-meter run.
Todorovich shined in the long jump with a distance of 19 feet and 9.5 inches, good for her best mark of the season and the 9th best jump at the championship meet. Her next best finish was in the javelin throw where she reached a mark of 125 feet which landed her in 11th place. In total she compiled 5,533 points which was good for the third best heptathlon score in Baylor track and field history.
Last month she earned a third place finish at the Big 12 Championships in Tucson Arizona with a score of 5,830.
Todorovich was a nine-time track and field state champion during her time competing for Helena High with titles in the the 100-meter hurdle and long jump her sophomore, junior and senior seasons. As a senior she also won state titles in the 100-meter dash, high jump, and triple jump.
