The Fresno Falcons hockey team introduced new additions to its on-ice staff at their press conference at the Selland Arena on June 18, 2026.

The Falcons’ CEO Parker Moskal began the event seeking to reassure longtime Falcons fans of the team’s commitment to remain in the league, going on to announce the organization’s recently made 10 year agreement and partnership with the city of Fresno.

Moskal is a veteran of the Federal Prospects Hockey League, and played for the Monroe Moccasins before he became involved in executive leadership for the Fresno Falcons. As CEO of this newly reinstated organization, he is committed to helping restore and grow the team’s presence in the Central Valley.

“You can just imagine all the people that have played here, all the people who put their body on the line, have done everything to make sure that hockey has thrived here for the last 80 years.” Moskal said. “I can’t wait to see the puck drop here this October.”

Team president, Jimmy Fries, spoke next to thank the organization’s partners and fans for their continued support throughout the years. Fries is a Central Valley native with more than two decades of experience in the entertainment and professional sports industries. His background includes leadership roles with Fresno State Athletics, executive marketing positions at companies across the region and concert promotion work with Goodfellas Entertainment.

The team’s new head coach, Iain Duncan, and assistant coach, Luke Curtin, were introduced shortly after Fries’ statements.

Duncan is a former NHL forward and has coached in the Central Hockey League with the Nashville Nighthawks, Mentor Ice Breakers and the Federal Prospects Hockey League with 58 years of hockey experience under his belt.

After an opportunity in the league arose for him in Fresno, he was able to negotiate with owner Don Kirnan and sign a deal with the Falcons. Kirnan is nationally recognized for his expertise in workforce management and is joined in his ownership position by his partner and group of athletic professionals, who choose to remain anonymous.

Kirnan is also the commissioner of the Federal Prospects Hockey League.

Duncan will begin his position as head coach this upcoming hockey season, beginning on Oct.15, 2026.

Luke Curtin, an East Coast Hockey League Hall of Famer and former forward for the Falcons from 2005 to 2008, was announced as the team’s new assistant coach as well.

“I’m thrilled to be working with Iain in terms of helping him in development, and not only that, but in the community, to develop the community.” Curtin said.

The announcement marks a significant milestone in the organization’s journey to returning to the world of professional hockey. With the introduction of both a new head and assistant coach, the Fresno Falcons hope to develop and revive their team as they make their comeback to the league.

“I’m looking forward to growing the hockey community, making it a little stronger and a little bigger here in Fresno.” Duncan said.
