JACKSON, Tenn. (WBBJ) – The Greater Jackson Chamber and Jackson Regional Airport are asking West Tennessee residents to weigh in on Denver Air Connection’s commercial service and what routes matter most to the community.
The air service survey is open now through July 31. Leaders say the effort is for informational purposes only, with no changes planned at this time.
“Once we get the survey responses we’ll share that back with the airport team for them to share it back to Denver Air,” said Logan McCoy, vice president of the Greater Jackson Chamber. “It’s just a touch point, see how everything’s going in the community. And see if there’s potential options for the future for new destinations.”
Ridership on the rise
McCoy said the airport boarded approximately 10,000 passengers last year on Denver Air Connection flights to Chicago and Atlanta. He said the airport is on track to reach 15,000 passengers this year.
“So more people that are flying the airline and showing the support of the community,” McCoy said. “Knowing that you can drive five minutes to the airport, park for free, rather than flying out of Nashville or Memphis which typically cost a lot more.”
Survey results to be shared with airport board, Denver Air
Feedback collected through the survey will be shared with the airport board and Denver Air Connection as they consider ways to improve service and evaluate future destinations.
“So, part of the survey may allow Denver Air to look at maybe adding a new destination now or maybe in the future,” McCoy said.
Denver Air Connection currently operates a 50-seat jet six days a week out of Jackson Regional Airport, with service to Chicago and Atlanta. McCoy said the flight to Atlanta takes approximately 45 minutes from wheels up to wheels down.
