Simpson Thacher & Bartlett is opening an office in Chicago and has hired five corporate partners from rival Kirkland & Ellis in the city, the firm confirmed Thursday.
The group is led by Ryan Harris, who has co-led Kirkland’s private investment and family office practice and will be Simpson Thacher’s Chicago office managing partner. Cole Parker, another co-leader of that group at Kirkland, is also making the move.
