Celebrate Latino filmmakers at the upcoming Dallas Latino Film Festival happening at the Latino Cultural Center Sept. 4-5. The festival will bring powerful stories, fresh perspectives and a celebration of Latino voices to the big screen.
During the festival, filmmakers, production companies, industry organizations and film lovers will come together for two days filled with screening, workshops, panels, Q&As, networking and celebration of Latino films.
Attendees will get to watch narrative, documentary, animation and experimental films made by emerging filmmakers, students and established professionals. Awards will be given out to best short film, best director, best cinematography, best story/screenplay and audience choice award. Winners will receive an official festival laurel, recognition on the Latino Cultural Center’s media platforms and potential opportunities to partake in post-screening discussions and panels with festival audiences.
One of the films that will be showing during the festival include Walk & Talk: The Doc by Oscar López. The short film spotlights Walk & Talk Social, a group that meets on the Katy Trail each week and pairs strangers for a walk. The film will screen as part of This America Vida block of short film screenings on Friday at 8:15 p.m.
Festivalgoers can also watch the Dawged Films Block, Pegasus Media Block, KERA Arts Doc Block and more films.
