John Harbaugh is riding with the New York Giants these days, and that’s great, but that doesn’t mean everything is perfect in the Big Apple.

When Harbaugh came on the scene, he made lots of changes to this lineup right away. Sure, the Giants needed it after going 4-13 last season. But, one of those changes may have made a bad situation worse for this team.

In a feature for CBS Sports out on Thursday, Josh Edwards points out one area that was already hurting before Harbaugh came along and now, it’s possibly worse.

Giants have a bigger problem on the defensive line

That area is the team’s defensive line. The Dexter Lawrence trade really just made this situation worse, Edwards believes.

“The defensive line was a need for New York even before the Dexter Lawrence trade,” he says in the piece. “The move only exacerbated the issue.”

He adds, “The Giants signed every veteran available and crossed their fingers Darius Alexander would take the next step in his professional career. The franchise would probably take a flyer on a talented young discarded defensive tackle though.”

In Edwards’ piece, he highlights one position that every team should attack before the roster deadline. With that in mind, don’t be surprised if you see Harbaugh and the Giants making more changes and additions to beef up their defensive line. They’ve done a good job getting players for Jaxson Dart. Plus, they have a new defensive bullet in Arvell Reese. But, they could use more beef.
