NEW BRITAIN — The Queen Ann Nzinga Center will celebrate Hispanic culture with a free community event in New Britain Sept. 19.
The organization will hold an open house and Hispanic Heritage Celebration from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at its Center of Excellence, 57 Fern St.
The event comes during Hispanic Heritage Month, which is observed nationally from Sept. 15 through Oct. 15 and recognizes the histories, cultures and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.
Featuring food, music and activities for families, the afternoon is designed to bring community members together, organizers said.
The Queen Ann Nzinga Center is a New Britain organization focused on empowering people through the arts. The upcoming event allows visitors to learn more about the center while taking part in cultural activities.
