The 2026 New York Latino Film Festival (NYLFF) is ready to showcase diverse talent, stories and work focused on Latino culture during Hispanic Heritage Month.
The event is one of the most awaited and respected major Hispanic film festivals.
This year the festival will run from Sept. 15 to 20 and include screenings, red carpets, panels and more.
The festival will open up with director Armani Ortiz’s movie musical “Otra”, produced by Tyler Perry, at Regal Union Square on Sept. 15. “Otra” was shot in a single, continuous take and features music Bad Bunny, Ozuna, Rauw Alejandro, Rosalía, Marc Anthony and more. The musical tells the story of Javier who dies in a car crash with the sole regret of never finding true love. Given an opportunity by his guardian angel, Javier revisits three moments from his past relationship to win his girlfriend, who rejected his proposal, back.
Another highly anticipated movie musical is “Milly: Queen of Merengue” which tells the story of the great Dominican singer and multi-Grammy Award winner Milly Quezada. The screening will take place Sept. 19 at United Palace.
