Viva Latino Festival returns to Ottumwa after cancellation last year
OTTUMWA, Iowa —
The Viva Latino Festival is returning to Ottumwa this Saturday after being canceled last year due to immigrant enforcement safety concerns.
Organizers said the festival’s return is a way to celebrate pride in the community.
Viva Ottumwa Latino Festival runs noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at the town’s Central Park. It’s a free and family-friendly event that includes live music, performances, food trucks and local vendors.
The annual festival also awards 10 scholarships to students in the community. It will begin at noon on Saturday.
