The Nebraska Cornhuskers (1-0) welcome their second straight Mid-American Conference visitor to Memorial Stadium on Saturday night when the Bowling Green Falcons (0-1) arrive for their first-ever meeting with the ‘Huskers.

After a tight first half, Nebraska broke away after intermission for a 49-21 victory over Ohio last Saturday. The Bobcats led much of the first half until Anthony Colandrea hooked up with Jamal Rule for a 24-yard catch and run with 8:19 left in the second quarter for a 14-13 halftime lead. Colandrea was 18-for-32 for 275 yards and three touchdowns and added a score on the ground while Rule ran for 122 yards and two TDs on 15 carries. Mekhi Nelson scored twice, once on the ground and once through the air, finishing with 64 yards on 10 carries to go with two receptions for another 65 yards.
Bowling Green fell behind 17-0 in the first half and never recovered in a 20-13 loss to visiting Tarleton State, which came in ranked fifth in the FCS Coaches Poll. Austyn Dendy scored the lone touchdown for the Falcons on a three-yard run with 1:03 to go in the second quarter and Travis Kenner kicked two field goals. Dendy ran for 60 yards on 15 carries while Jay Kastantin went 24-for-30 for 262 yards. Jeremiah Scoby finished with 10 catches for 102 yards in the loss.
The Cornhuskers lost their final three games in 2025 to finish 7-6 after a lopsided loss to Utah in the Las Vegas Bowl. The Falcons went 4-8 in their first season under former Ohio State Heisman Trophy winner Eddie George.
