LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — A wrong-way crash late Friday night on U.S. 95 near Snow Mountain left two drivers dead and sent a passenger to the hospital in critical condition, shutting down the northbound lanes for hours as investigators worked the scene.
Nevada Highway Patrol, a division of the Nevada State Police, responded to a report of a crash at 11:28 p.m. Friday on northbound U.S. 95 at mile marker 99.
Investigators said the crash involved two vehicles, an SUV and a sedan. Officials said the SUV was traveling in the wrong direction.
The driver of the sedan was traveling southbound in the northbound travel lanes before the collision.
Both drivers were confirmed dead at the scene. The driver of the SUV had not been identified, including gender, because of a vehicle fire. The driver of the sedan was confirmed as an adult male.
A passenger in the sedan was taken by ground ambulance to a local hospital in critical condition.
All northbound U.S. 95 travel lanes were closed at mile marker 96 at Kyle Canyon Road. Troopers said U.S. 95 remained closed for an undetermined amount of time while the crash was investigated.
