More than 200 San Antonio-area workers will soon be without a job before the end of the year as another regional delivery company contracted with Amazon announces a mass layoff. It’s the latest in what is a high-turnover industry of Amazon delivery contracts.
4XH Logistics, which lists a home office in Boerne but appears to employ drivers in San Antonio, filed a notice with the State of Texas this week confirming it would terminate 230 jobs. According to the U.S. Department of Transportation registration system, the company was registered to conduct general freight transportation by truck on a for-hire basis. The most recent registration with the Transportation Department shows 20 drivers employed, but it’s unclear whether this includes subcontracted drivers.
“We are writing to update you with the notice you received on or about 07 Sept 2026,” 4XH Logistics owner Gabriel Hilario wrote in a letter to San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones. “Due to ramp down provisions, we now write you that the layoff will occur between 6 Nov 2026 and 19 Nov 2026.”
Company descriptions in several job postings from 4XH Logistics indicate the company was a delivery service partner with Amazon, delivering doorstep packages from Amazon’s DSX5 warehouse – a more than $30 million facility on the Far Southside in Von Ormy.
The company was seemingly posting new jobs as recently as July of this year. But it’s also faced criticism from former employees across multiple platforms. On Indeed, the company earned a 2.8-star rating across 32 reviews, with the lowest rankings tied to job security, pay or benefits, and work culture.
Several folks who list themselves as Amazon or general delivery drivers noted this as one of their worst experiences with an Amazon Delivery Service Partner (DSP) – a company that contracts with Amazon, typically to perform the “last mile” delivery services from Amazon’s storage facilities.
“I’ve worked for another DSP, and this one is worse by far,” one angered person wrote. “The micro management is insane, and they are always reminding you that you can be replaced at any time… Too many stops, unrealistic expectations and micromanagement. Wouldn’t recommend.”
Not all the alleged employee reviews are negative, however. Of the 32 written on Indeed, 11 gave a rating of 4 or 5 stars. Some even note that it is a place to gain experience before moving on to better jobs.
MySA reached out to the owner of 4XH Logistics, Hilario, for details on the mass layoff filing but did not hear back by the time of publication.
