Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate the history, culture and contributions of Hispanic and Latino people.
More than one in five Oklahoma City Residents is Hispanic or Latino.
They are our neighbors, friends, coworkers and family
They’re business owners, educators, healthcare workers and leaders helping our city thrive.
Their culture is part of what makes Oklahoma City vibrant.
From our music and art to our food, festivals and traditions.
This week, our team saw that culture in motion
Dancers from Ballet Folklórico Herencia shared how dance connects them to their heritage.
And for 35 years, the Latino community development agency has helped strengthen the community through education, health, mental health, youth development, child care and economic opportunity.
That legacy deserves recognition—and support.
This month, take time to learn, celebrate, support a Latino-owned business or contribute to LCDA.
When every part of our community has the opportunity to thrive, all of Oklahoma City and Oklahoma is stronger.
