WILLIAMSBURG 一 Nothing Bundt Cakes celebrated the opening of its new bakery on Monticello Avenue in James City County with a ribbon-cutting ceremony Oct. 2.
The bakery at 4655 Monticello Ave. is owned by husband-and-wife Tiffany and Joseph Ruffin and is their third Nothing Bundt Cakes shop on the Peninsula. Tiffany Ruffin, who has also worked in behavioral health, said she became interested in the franchise after visiting a Nothing Bundt Cakes shop in Las Vegas.
Opening the Williamsburg-area bakery was a two-and-a-half-year undertaking, Joseph Ruffin said. The couple said they wanted the bakery to be a welcoming place for people to connect and spend time together.
“We envision our bakery as a gathering place where stories are shared, friendships are formed and memories are made,” he said.

Joseph Ruffin said the couple is inspired by the culture of the area and wants to reflect it in the bakery. As part of the opening celebration, 20% of the day’s proceeds were donated to the Winks Organization, a nonprofit that supports people with brain tumors and their caregivers.
James City County Board member Jim Icenhour attended the ceremony, along with Rebecca Leser, a representative from Del. Jessica Anderson’s office.
Following the ribbon-cutting, attendees sampled bundt cakes and browsed other merchandise while Tiffany and Joseph Ruffin met with community members.
“We are excited and we love being in James City County,” Tiffany Ruffin said.
Nothing Bundt Cakes is at 4655 Monticello Ave., Suite 203, in Williamsburg. The bakery is open 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
