Classes for the free AngelNV Entrepreneur Due Diligence Bootcamp for startup founders will begin next Tuesday, Oct. 13 and continue every Tuesday through Nov. 17 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the International Innovation Center in downtown Las Vegas (300 S. 4th St., #180, Las Vegas, Nev., 89101).
Now in its seventh year, StartUpNV expects more than 100 entrepreneurs to again participate in the AngelNV program in person or virtually as sessions will also be livestreamed via Zoom (link provided upon registration).
Operated by StartUpNV, a statewide nonprofit incubator and accelerator for Nevada-based startups, the AngelNV program teaches founders the fundamentals of attracting venture capital, including perfecting their pitch, conducting market research, and developing a deck to attract investors. The curriculum also covers business model development, analyzing market opportunity, and common legal issues for startups.
After completing the educational bootcamp, entrepreneurs can apply for AngelNV funding (separate registration is required). One startup will receive a $400,000 investment comprised of funding from accredited angel investors who invest in the AngelNV Conference Fund and matching funds from the State Small Business Credit Initiative (SSBCI). Since starting in 2020, AngelNV has invested in 15 Nevada-based startups.
Last year, two startups received AngelNV investments at the program’s finale. The grand prize of $200,000 from AngelNV plus the SSBCI $200,000 match went to Regara, and first runner up RevReply received a total of $200,000 from the AngelNV and SSBCI funds.
Entrepreneurs/business owners can sign up for the bootcamp at https://angelnv.com/apply/, and they can sign up throughout the course of the bootcamp as the sessions will be archived online on YouTube for viewing on demand.
